As part of your monitoring process and continual improvement health and safety inspections/audits can be undertaken of premises systems or documentation. Whenever an inspection is undertaken a report on the findings with recommendations will be provided to assist you to continually improve your standards.

Audits are more time consuming than inspections and require the availability of staff for interview, the provision of health and safety documents and visit to premises.  At the conclusion a report on the findings will be produced with recommendations.

Having invested in setting systems up to assist you in managing for health and safety you should consider how you can monitor for continual improvement. This embraces the Plan – Do – Check -Act approach promoted by the Health and Safety Executive.
